A vessel is a difficult building. Everything is tight, everything corrodes, the plant is often older than anything ashore, and the work has to fit around a schedule that does not move. A boat alongside is a boat not earning.
Set Point Technology has serviced and repaired air conditioning and refrigeration for marine operators alongside the commercial work, including Sea Services, McKay Shipping and Vessel Management Services. That is fault diagnosis, repair, parts, and scheduled maintenance visits on a rhythm that suits when the vessel is actually in.
It is the same skill as the shore work, and the same systems, with the difference that access is worse, salt has usually got in first, and there is rarely a second chance at the visit.
Vessel air conditioning
Diagnosis and repair of cabin, bridge and saloon systems, control faults and circuit boards, and the corrosion damage that shortens the life of everything on board.
Onboard refrigeration
Galley refrigeration, cold storage and freezer plant. The same equipment as a commercial kitchen, in a harder place to reach it.
Scheduled visits
Maintenance booked around when the vessel is alongside, so servicing happens in port rather than becoming a breakdown at sea.
Shore facilities too
Offices, reception areas and depot buildings on the same agreement, so one contractor covers the whole operation.
