What we collect through this website, why we collect it, where it is kept, and how to have it removed.

The short version
This website has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts of any kind. Nothing you do here is reported to anyone else. The only personal information we hold is what you type into the enquiry form, and it goes to us directly.
What the enquiry form collects
When you send an enquiry we store the name, email address, phone number and message you provide, along with the date and time you sent it. Email address and phone number are both optional individually, but we need at least one of them, because otherwise we cannot reply.
We use it to answer your enquiry and to carry out any work that follows from it. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone for marketing.
Where it is kept
Enquiries are stored in a database on a server we own and run ourselves. They are not held by a third-party form service or a marketing platform.
If we have enabled internal notifications, a copy of your enquiry may be sent to our own staff messaging channel so that someone sees it promptly. That channel is operated by Slack Technologies. Nothing else is forwarded anywhere.
Accounts, if you have one
Some parts of this site require an account. For those we store your email address and a one-way scrambled version of your password — we cannot read your password, and neither could anyone who obtained a copy of the database. If you turn on two-step sign-in we also store the secret your authenticator app uses, and one-way scrambled versions of your recovery codes.
Cookies
One cookie, and only if you sign in. It holds a signed reference to your account and an expiry date, nothing else — no name, no email address, no browsing history. It cannot be read by other websites, it is not sent to anyone, and it expires after seven days or when you sign out. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, because there is no advertising or analytics.
Protecting the sign-in page
To stop automated password guessing we briefly keep a count of failed sign-in attempts in the server's memory. It is discarded within minutes and never written to disk.
How long we keep enquiries
We keep enquiries for as long as we may reasonably need them for the work, for our records, and for any warranty period that applies. If you would rather we did not, ask and we will delete yours.
Seeing or removing your information
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] or call 0800 48 22 07 and we will handle it. There is no charge and you do not need to give a reason.
